About Daisy DAISY ABEY was born in Matara, Sri Lanka and attended the University of Ceylon. She came to England in 1965 and now divides her time between London and Leeds, though Sri Lanka and Indonesia are also countries that she often visits.
Originally she wrote in Sinhala
but in the mid nineties she began to write poetry in English and is widely
published. Her work was included in the ground breaking Redbeck Anthology of British South Asian Poetry edited by Debjani Chatterjee.
She wrote her first novel 'Gimhana Tharaka' (Summer Stars)in Sinhala and this year Sixties Press have published her first novel in English 'Like The Wind.' Back to Top |
